Our wedding ceremony will be held at Burton Latimer Baptist Church, on February 17th 2024. This is our church where both of us play in the music group. Heather is one of the lay preachers and junior church team. It is where we are most often found on a Sunday morning, when we aren't out either banding or with the cars that is!
Nowhere else would have felt quite right to get married, and our very own Rev Mark Welch will be conducting the service. He was first known to us from the world of brass banding, so leave your expectations of a boring church wedding at the door, it will (hopefully) be much more interesting as Mark knows us both from the banding world not just as parishioners.
Entry to the church is through the main doors in the middle of the chapel building, where ushers will ably tell you to sit where you want as long as;
1) It's not got a reserved sign on that pew
2) You're not sitting on a strangers lap, if you want to sit on someone we recommend asking their permission first!
For the children and young people we are planning on organising a suitable DBS checked adult or 2 to be in one of the rooms in the chapel with our junior church toys out. So they don't have to be in the main church if they don't wish to be, and parents can enjoy the service without disruption.
